The Montgó
This mountain is the result of the collision between the African and European continental plates. It is located at the last foothills of the Prebetic mountain range. It is formed from Cretaceous materials, abundant in marl and limestone, which facilitates the presence of numerous grottos, caves, and ravines of karst origin. This massif is a true treasure for hikers.
It covers an area of 2,117.68 hectares and was declared a natural park on March 16, 1987, by the Valencian Government. A few years later, the protected area was expanded to 7,503.99 hectares.
Its height is 751.8 meters above sea level.
It has many very interesting features that make it very unique.
In this section, I want to share with you the places I know and/or have visited at some point.
